Quite a few guys (and one gal) from our church joined up with another church’s youth group to play broomball. For everyone from our church, it was their first time…except for Tim who played in college (and LOVED it). Our group rented the rink for an hour. We were on the ice for only 40 minutes or so.
Each team had 11 players. Although we didn’t follow the “official” rules, it was a lot of fun! Of course there was a lot of slipping, sliding, and falling. Tim and Jason were prepared and wore knee pads. Tim was blocking shots and sliding on his knees. Once he crashed into the wall and broke his glasses. He went to the front desk, got some Scotch tape, fixed up his glasses, and got back on the ice. There were a lot of bruises. Justin pulled a muscle in his back.
Here’s Jason who is wearing a grey flannel shirt.
Here’s a photo with Tim (on the left wearing a navy warm-up with a white stripe), Jason (center), and Justin (second from the right in the back, wearing black jacket over a burgundy shirt).
Here’s a group shot with both teams.
Addendum: And a VERY special thanks to our photographer and videographer, Elizabeth Pau!
